Zachary Ivan Sauvageau, 43, of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Fargo, North Dakota died in Winnipeg on January 17th, 2026.

Zach was born in Fargo on March 11th, 1982 to Ivan and Loretta Sauvageau.

Zack attended the University of North Dakota and studied Sociology. He married Jessica Sywyk on May 28, 2008. He worked as a Senior Support Escalation Manager at Microsoft.

Zack led every day with his heart aimed steadily toward improving material conditions for his communities, and the communities of others. His bottomless empathy and selfless dedication to others will leave a mark on the hearts of all of us who were lucky enough to have known him.

Zack loved the human stories told through the lives of athletes, particularly via the members of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the extraordinary drama portrayed by the pro wrestling talent of AEW.

Zack also deeply loved music; cooking and sharing food with his loved ones; anime and videogames. He is remembered by friends and family as a profoundly kind, intelligent, generous, sincere, and caring person.

Zack is survived by his beloved wife Jessica, his parents Ivan and Loretta, his brother Gabe, Sister-In-Law Amanda, niece Berkeley, nephew William, and many friends and members of his chosen family.
