The circumstances of our deaths are largely outside of our control, but there is much comfort in taking ownership of the aspects that we can determine for ourselves.
At Hunter Funerals, we put a lot of emphasis on planning ahead because we feel this is one of the best ways to ease the burden to everyone involved. Taking the time now to reflect on your own values and wishes will free your loved ones from the responsibility of making these decisions on your behalf.
What makes "planning ahead" different at Hunter Funerals is our holistic approach. This is about so much more than cremation or burial, oak or maple casket. Our plans include such topics as discovering your legacy, choosing an executor and preparing your estate, and working with a death doula. We want to provide you with all the information and resources you need to feel confident that you have done all you can to prepare for death.
Get your ducks in a row...
The Create Your Death Dossier Workshop is for everyone who wants to invest some time now delving into the conversations that will ease the burden on their family and friends when death is imminent.
The course is 2 hours long, plus includes access to ongoing drop-in classes to support you as you work through all the tasks. You will receive a binder with our comprehensive workbook covering:
- Death Administration,
- Creating Legacy,
- Care & Comfort, and
- Funeral & Final Resting Place.
The goal of this workshop is to support you in exploring your values as they relate to end-of-life and educate you on your funeral options. We fully support autonomy in death care and want every family to have a funeral experience that is most meaningful to them; therefore, there is no expectation that you use Hunter Funerals for your funeral services.
Investment starts at $150, with each additional family member just $50. Each participant receives a voucher for their FULL cost of registration which can be used towards funeral services from Hunter Funerals for themselves or anyone else they would like to gift it to.
The course is offered privately to each group either in your home, or at our office at 603 Wellington Crescent. Use our contact form to get more info, or arrange for an introductory call to meet the funeral director and see if the course is right for you.
