Myrna Gayle Prell

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Myrna Gayle Prell (nee Hardy), who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving daughters.

Myrna is predeceased by her father, Wilham Prell. She is survived by her mother, Gayle Prell; children Elyssia Gagne (Mike Gagne), Mickyla Prell (Kelsey Hanakowski) and Joseph Hardy; her sister, Sharon Daniel and her cherished grandchildren Marteena, Zaylynn, Izabelle, Xoe and Dahlia.  

Born on July 12, 1972 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Myrna spent much of her early life in the province before starting a family of her own in 1990. Her journey took her to the Northwest Territories and later to Alberta. She began a rewarding career as a long-distance truck driver. Affectionately known as “Road Runner”, she traveled extensively across North America – with her children by her side, making unforgettable memories on the road.

As her children began school, Myrna transitioned into a new path as a Support Worker with the Province of Manitoba. It is here she found her true calling, offering unwavering care and compassion to each person she supported. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend who loved nothing more than time spent with family - especially camping at Clear Lake Campground.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Cancer Care Manitoba, the Palliative Care Program and Riverview Health Centre for their exceptional kindness, support and care during Myrna’s final journey.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 11:00 – 2:00 at Selkirk Park Picnic Area # 4 in Selkirk, Manitoba.  

Though her time with us was far too brief, Myrna’s love, warmth and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Myrna’s memory to Cancer Care Manitoba.
