It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Hélène Nault (née Audette) on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the age of 89, at ActionMarguerite St. Boniface in Winnipeg, MB.
Hélène's greatest joy came from her family. She poured her heart into creating a loving home, always guided by her unwavering faith. She led by example, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. Known for her infectious joy and sharp wit, Hélène brought light and laughter to all who knew her.
Hélène was predeceased by her beloved husband, Léo, in 1987. She is survived by her cherished children, Monique, Nicole (John) Parker, Fr. Michel, and Jacques, as well as her grandson, Joel.
Born on June 1, 1935, in St. Pierre, MB, to Josaphat and Délima Audette, Hélène moved with her family to Fort Frances, ON, at the age of five, where she spent her childhood. She met Léo Nault from Richer, MB, and after their marriage in 1954, they settled in St. Boniface, MB, to raise their family in a vibrant francophone community.
Hélène enjoyed a fulfilling career as a kindergarten teacher and educational assistant, inspiring countless young minds with her patience and creativity. Notably, she started the first "Jardin de 4 ans" (pre-kindergarten) in Manitoba, paving the way for early childhood education in the French language. Outside of her professional life, she enjoyed singing in the church choir, gardening, sewing, reading, and hosting her family for weekly Sunday suppers, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
A private funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Special thanks to the staff of 3DE at ActionMarguerite St Boniface for their wonderful care.
